Strategy will only get you so far if you don’t do the inner work. That’s a fact!

A few months ago my coach said: “Going Live on Facebook is what made me money”.
I thought: “She’s right, that’s how I found her. It would be a great strategy for my starting coaching business”

So what do you think I did?
It would make sense to think I started going live regularly after knowing that. That was not the case.

You see, I was terrified of going live. I was scared of what people would think of me becoming a coach, freezing up and getting super negative comments. By the way, this was all coming from a girl that used to have a Youtube channel and even did live cooking shows on there.

The fear was so strong that there wasn’t anything anyone could say that changed my mind. It wasn’t until I decided to do the inner work, that I was able to go live. My first time was awesome! Had so many great reactions and was super excited to do it again.

By now you would think I did it regularly right? Nope!

Another fear surfaced. My fear of overworking, stemming from a major breakdown I experienced while doing Youtube videos. I only went live occasionally so I won’t “overwork” myself.

It sounds silly to me now, but this was a real issue. Had to deal with that one too.

Doing live videos was just one strategy I learned. Had to do quite a bit of inner work to gain the confidence to keep on growing. The inner work is what most people try to skip. I used to think, doing the inner work was a huge waste of time. For a long while I believed that if I only forced myself to do things, they will get done. I was wrong.

The Facebook Live thing is a good example. Had I not changed my mindset around it, I would still be a coach that nobody knows about.

When it comes to gaining confidence to grow your business, doing the inner work will make all the difference.

How do you do that inner work? It’s simple but not necessarily easy.

1. Be honest with yourself

The first step is to be brutally honest about what’s really holding you back. We can use the different labels for the same problem. Like for my situation, I could’ve named it fear, lack of confidence, laziness, being too busy and many other things. Put all those labels on paper.

2. Know why you want to make a change.

What we focus on, we amplify in our lives. If you focus on all the reasons why doing something will improve your life, you are more likely to do it. For me I focused on how going live will grow my business. Also how not going live is not helping people that really need to hear my message.

3. Go for it

Keep doing step 1 and 2 until you feel a bit more comfortable to go for it. Beware! You probably will never feel 100% comfortable. There just comes a point when you have to go for it. Most of the time after doing something you’ve been so afraid of doing, you’ll realize that it’s a lot easier than you thought it would be.

4. Rinse and repeat

Now that you have accomplished one thing you were fearful of, continue doing it in more areas of your life and your business. Most of the time the thing we fear the most is the thing that will make a huge difference in our life. So continue this process and you’ll see how fast you’ll grow.

Whatever you do, don’t forget the importance of the inner work. Especially if you feel stuck in your business.
